Cain's Cutthroats

The family of an ex-Confederate army captain named Justiss Cain is killed and he is left for dead by the thieves and killers who served with him during the Civil War. A bounty hunting preacher nurses him back to health, and together they hunt the gang of murderous cutthroats.

When the Civil War ends, Confederate Captain Justice Cain retires to a peaceful life with his young son and new black wife, Angie, a bi-racial ex-slave. However, the men of his old outfit, six homicidal soldiers, known as Cain's Cutthroats, have turned their lives into a ritual of murder, torture and robbery. They want to keep fighting the Union, even though the war is over.

They try to convince Cain to ride with them once more. He refuses, telling them, “The old South is over,” and they become outraged. The raging Cutthroats murder his family. Swearing vengeance, Cain teams up with a colorful preacher/bounty hunter, and hunts down his family’s killers one at a time.

They tie him up, and the group’s leader, Ameson, rapes his wife. When mobster Billy Joe tries to rape her, she fights back, and he kills her. He also kills Cain’s son Jody. They former Confederate soldiers then burn down Cain’s farm, thinking this will destroy the evidence, and that Cain will die in the fire. He lives, however, and seeks revenge...
