    When a reporter (Peter Graves) investigates the mysterious destruction of a town, he discovers a secret government agriculture center experimenting with super growth formulas. Suddenly, colossal Grasshoppers emerge from a grain storage facility to rampage human-kind.

     

    Desperate to stop the giant insects before they reach Chicago and Washington, a nuclear bomb is used against them to no avail. Finally, a unique means of luring the creatures to watery doom using their mating call is conceived by scientists? but is it only the beginning of the end?
